Solenoid valve and coil EVRA - DANFOSS

The EVRA Solenoid Valve is a normally closed (NC) type electric valve designed to control the on–off flow of refrigerant in cooling systems. When the solenoid coil is energized, it generates a magnetic field that lifts the valve piston, allowing refrigerant to pass through. Once power is removed, the piston returns to its closed position—providing precise and reliable automatic control of refrigerant flow for efficient system operation.

Key Features of the DANFOSS EVRA Solenoid Valve & Coil

Robust and Durable Construction
The EVRA valve is made from high-quality materials such as brass or cast iron (depending on size and model). It is engineered to withstand high pressure, wide temperature variations, and refrigerant corrosion, ensuring a long service life even in demanding environments.

Excellent Sealing Performance
Danfoss’s advanced sealing technology prevents refrigerant leakage effectively, reducing energy loss and maintaining system performance and efficiency.

Versatile Coil Options
Danfoss offers a wide range of EVRA coils with different voltage configurations (24V, 220V, 380V — both AC and DC), providing flexibility for integration with existing electrical systems or specific control applications.

Wide Refrigerant Compatibility
The EVRA valve is designed to work with multiple refrigerants, including HFCs, HCFCs, and even R744 (CO₂) in certain models—making it compatible with both traditional and modern, eco-friendly refrigeration systems.

Easy Installation & Maintenance
Its simple, modular design allows quick installation and easy access to internal components. The valve and coil can be disassembled for cleaning or replacement without extensive downtime, which is ideal for long-term maintenance.

Advantages and Applications

Precise Refrigerant Flow Control
EVRA valves play a critical role in accurately controlling refrigerant flow to evaporators or other cooling components. This ensures stable temperature and humidity levels, essential for consistent cooling performance.

Enhanced System Efficiency & Longevity
Proper flow regulation helps compressors operate efficiently, minimizing wear and energy consumption while extending the lifespan of key components.

Compressor Protection
In abnormal conditions—such as excessively low temperatures or uneven refrigerant flow—the valve can shut off instantly, preventing liquid slugging (liquid refrigerant entering the compressor), a major cause of compressor damage.

Remote & Automated Operation
The EVRA’s electric design allows remote operation or integration with automated control systems, enhancing safety and reducing the need for manual access in hazardous areas.

Energy Saving & Cost Efficiency
By precisely managing refrigerant distribution, the system avoids unnecessary energy use, leading to lower power consumption and reduced operational costs over time.
